The weather took a turn for the worse for the second day of racing, but nothing could stop the action hotting up on track for round four of the British Supermoto Championship at Wigans Three Sisters race circuit.

Each race of the Open Elites was brimmed with action, with riders pulling impressive passes despite the slippery conditions. Last year's runner up James Addy was the first to show what he's made of, after an off early in the race one put him to the back of the pack. Addy worked his way back through pulling some impressive moves on a number of unsuspecting riders, pushing for third in the final moments of the race. Unfortunately for Addy he was kept at bay by Skyzones' Richard Blakeman, who finished third, crossing the finish just inches ahead.

The most exciting racing of the day was dominated by Skyzones' 74 Chris Hodgson. After winning race one, Hodgson tangled with Blakeman on the first corner in race two, putting Hodgson to the back of the pack much like Addy in race one, Blakeman retiring early. Hodgson ever determined worked his way back through the pack to finish fourth, an impressive result given the circumstances but not necessarily one he was happy with. Despite race two being declared a "Wet Race”, five times national champion Andy Mitchell was one of a handful of riders to stick with slick tyres, a gamble which paid off for Mitchell as he clinched a convincing third.

The rain held off for the Elite final, but the same could not be said for Hodgson as he steamed ahead of Andy Mitchell after half a lap, increasing his lead throughout the race to pull off a convincing win. James Addy proved that his second place in race two was no fluke with a repeat performance for the final, Venske completing the podium, Motosupplies rider Douglas Cunningham coming fourth and Blakeman in fifth place.

But the prize for consistency had to go to last years champion D3 Racings' Craig Venske, who put in some excellent performances finishing second, first and third respectively, making him the overall winner of round four.

The Tibco Rider of the Day award went to Skyzone rider Richard Blakeman, who despite aggravating an injury in round two which forced him to miss round three, returned in style, showed determination, and put in an impressive performance overall.
