Brits rise to the Challenge

THE first round of the European Youth and Ladies championships took place in the outskirts of Morella in Spain on Easter Sunday and the event was certainly one to remember.
After two days of relentless rain the organizers were forced to move the paddock for safety reasons and then shorten the route of the trial as the river came up so fast that no one could gain access to the original course. The sections
had to be relocated in another area in a very short time.
The new the sections were a mixture of muddy banks and rocks that actually suited the British competitors as they could show off their skills to the full.
Nevertheless the Ladies championship class was still dominated by seven-time World champ Laia Sanz on the Repsol Montesa as she recorded a first lap of just one mark lost and went on to clean the second lap and win the trial.
