This week the Sidcup club contacted TMX with news of the death of Derrick Dickenson, better known as 'Dick', a long time Sidcup member.

Since finding motor cycle sport in the mid 1970s Dick has been a club level trials rider, start line supremo at all of Sidcup's MX events, a club committee member, club chairman, trials secretary of both the Sidcup club and the North Kent Trials Combine.

As if that wasn't enough, he has observed at the last 25 editions at the Scottish Six Day Trial with the only break being the year of the ‘Foot and Mouth' out-break, as well as nearly every trial in the South East over the last 15-years.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10.15am on Friday, November 7, at Eltham Crematorium, Falcolnwood, and all are welcome.

The family has asked for no flowers, but donations in lieu can be sent to Marge Clarke, 12 Sarsen Heights, Chatham, Kent ME5 9HW with cheques payable to the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice, where Dick was cared for during his final days.
