Tony Cairoli will not compete at Riola Sardo this weekend, the opening round of the 2020 Internazionali d'Italia, it has been revealed.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced the news today via social media with Team Manager Claudio De Carli commenting: "Tony Cairoli set to make first 2020 race appearance at Round Three of the Internazionali D'Italia.

"#222 will not be in the start gate at Riola Sardo this weekend but is set to compete two weeks later at Mantova [the final round].

"He has worked well since he got back on the bike but we have estimated that we can grow a little more in condition and our goal is the world championship."

That leaves Tom Vialle and Rene Hofer as the only Red Bull KTM riders set to compete in any round of the series, although they are only racing at the second round in Ottobiano on February 2.
