This weekend (March 21-22) sees the first round of the 2015 Michelin MX Nationals kicking off at Preston Docks

With the series promoter promising that the North West sand circuit will be perfectly prepped and primped it's shaping up to be a cracking event catering for everyone from youths to top-flight pros.

There are some seriously big names lined up in the Fastest 40 Pro division that combines MX1 and MX2 riders over two 30-minute Sunday motos.

Riders to watch out for include Ben Watson (Hitachi Revo KTM UK), Martin Barr (ERT KTM), Graeme Irwin (Heads & All Threads Suzuki) and team-mate Harri Kullas, former British champions Brad Anderson (MBO Power ASA Yamaha) and Kristian Whatley (Buildbase Honda), Neville Bradshaw (272 Raceschool Husqvarna), Steven Lenoir  Tombs (Lings Husqvarna) and Adam Sterry (Wilvo Forkrent KTM).

Although the MX1 and MX2 Pros will race together they will be scored separately, with £1,000 going to the winner of each class.

The weekend will see 26 races and on top of the Fastest 40 division there will be classes for Expert MX1, Expert MX2, SW85cc, BW85cc, MXY2/Open youth and Junior/Clubman.

Series title sponsor Michelin has lent its name to an innovative competition within the series in the form of the Michelin Cup, a competition for any rider racing any class using its tyres.

Points will be awarded throughout the season in every race and will be monitored over all six rounds to produce the Michelin Cup winner.

Full tyre sponsorship packages for next season will be up for grabs along with a whole heap of individual prizes at every round.

Preston Docks can be found on Wallend Road, Preston. Postcode is PR2 2HW. For more details go to www.mxnationals.co.uk
