The best news has got to be the inclusion of Britain in the GP calendar, back in our traditional mid-July date. Three possible venues have been suggested - Rushmoor Arena near Aldershot, Lydden near Dover and Gore Basin on the Isle of Wight.MX purists will be delighted by the news that next season GPs will revert to a two-race format - but the changes do not end there. Luongo, through his Youthstream organisation, plans to re-name the MXGP class MX1 and the 125cc division MX2. Both classes will run at double-header events while the 650 class will get its own stand-alone series. And the MX des Nations will return to the three-race format that ran from '85 to '01 as part of Luongo's aim to 'relaunch motocross and bring it stability and peace'."To stay out of motocross...for two years has given me the possibility to look at things more objectively," says Luongo. "I can see the good and the less good that we did with Action Group in the past."Clearly, the professionalism, television and technology that is in motocross today was brought by AGI and at that time it was necessary to make the big step forward because if we did not make these strong efforts, we could never know its true potential."We distinctly see the possibilities of this sport. We have to aim to keep all the good, use the most technology and take a step back toward the more traditional times. I believe with these compromises it will be the best solution for everybody and motocross will run like a dream."
