After the rain-sodden success of last year's Grand Prix of Ireland at Ballykelly this year's promoters Schism are hoping the sun will shine down on Desertmartin as GP motocross returns to the Emerald Isle on September 16/17. With the world series points race closing up nicely it's hoped that both championships will go down to the wire at Porter's Pit - and what a place to crown a champion. The sandy, jump-filled circuit is a favourite for many riders and spectators who visit the venue both from the homeland and across the Irish Sea. As with most motocross events in Ireland, race day is on Saturday meaning practice and qualifying kicks off on the Friday.
