FIM Vintage Motocross World Cups 2022 venue and rules announced

The Vintage Motocross World Cups is now a sanctioned FIM event with the rules, Maggiora venue and dates now confirmed for the September 10-11 event.

Possible entries could include Jeremy McGrath and maybe Tony Cairoli, but these are not confirmed.

The FIM, the FMI and the organisers are pleased to announce that the first ever FIM Vintage Motocross World Cups will take place in Maggiora (ITA) on 10-11 September. There could be no better venue than the legendary motocross track of Maggiora to stage the inaugural edition.

Riders / Entries

Entries must be requested from Mr Francesco Bozzola maggiorapark@gmail.com .

The entry form can be downloaded here

Entry fee to be paid to the organiser on site: 100.

Riders are restricted to one FIM World Cup and one class only and are not allowed to

participate in any support races.

Maximum number of entries: 50 riders in each class.

Closing date of entries: 5 September 2022.

Riders / Ages

The age limits for FIM Classic/Evo Motocross World Cups are as follows:

minimum age: 40 years old / maximum age: 65 years old.

Riders / Licences

Riders must be holders of the appropriate FIM Vintage Motocross World Cup licence.

Riders / Protective equipment

The riders protective equipment must be according to the current FIM Vintage Motocross World

Cup and Technical Rules-Motocross Rules.

The event programme and race format are the following:

Motorcycles / Classes

FIM Vintage Motocross World Cup events are open to motorcycles as defined below:

a) Classic 125: production motorcycles from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989;

Cat. I, Group A1, over 100cc up to 125cc for 2-stroke engines.

b) Classic 250: production motorcycles from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989;

motorcycles of Cat. I, Group A1, over 175cc up to 250cc for 2-stroke engines.

c) Classic 500: production motorcycles from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989;

motorcycles of Cat. I, Group A1, over 350cc up to 500cc for 2-stroke engines and over 350cc

up to 650cc for 4-stroke engines.

d) Evo 125: production motorcycles from 01.01.1990 to 31.12.1996;

motorcycles of Cat. I, Group A1, over 100cc up to 125cc for 2-stroke engines.

e) Evo 250: production motorcycles from 01.01.1990 to 31.12.1996;

motorcycles of Cat. I, Group A1, over 175cc up to 250cc for 2-stroke engines.

f) Evo 500: production motorcycles from 01.01.1990 to 31.12.1996;

motorcycles of Cat. I, Group A1, over 350cc up to 500cc for 2-stroke engines and over 350cc

up to 650cc for 4-stroke engines.

Each rider is restricted to one single motorcycle which must be presented in their name and

number at the technical verifications. They must use the same motorcycle during the entire event.

Motorcycles / Sound limits

Sound control will be according to the static method. The maximum limits of the pre-race sound

levels are fixed at:

Tolerances (for Classic and Evo):

a) Post-race sound control tolerance +2 dB/A.

b) Tolerance for temperatures below 10C: +1 dB/A.

c) Tolerance for temperatures below 0C: +2 dB/A.

d) Test number will be rounded down: 96.1 dB/A = 96 dB/A.

The minimum weights are fixed at:

Motorcycles / Fuel

Only fuels corresponding to the FIM Specifications as set out in the FIM Technical Rules under Art

01.63 Fuel, oil and coolants can be used during the FIM Vintage Motocross World Cup. Any other

fuel is illegal and thus not authorised by the FIM.
