Gariboldi Honda rider Tim Gajser is sitting comfortable at the very front of the MXGP points standings. With just four rounds to go in the series he has a 103-point lead over Red bull KTM Factory rider Antonio Cairoli.

A solid result in Switzerland this coming weekend will pretty much wrap up the championship, or at least take him to Assen at the end of the month with more than enough confidence to ride inside his comfort zone, and score his second motocross world championship in as many years.

Gajser expects a bunch of his countrymen along to experience his first taste of Swiss GP action. It has been the massive support from his fellow Slovenians that has been a stand-out at many GP's in 2016.

"Switzerland is a new country for racing in GPs for me, and it's close to my home country so I'm looking forward to it. It's on the flat without any hills so it's going to be like it is when we get there. I don't know much more about it, but actually it doesn't really matter so much. When we arrive on Friday I will walk around and check the track and the lines with my Dad, and then remember it for the Saturday when we go wide open on it.”

You have to admire the attitude of Gajser. While many of his rivals make excuses for their season, the teenager just goes with the flow and concentrates on having fun. It's that mentality that has brought him so much success in 2016 and will more than likely bring him a world title.

"It doesn't matter where you race – you have to be prepared. We are working all year to make sure that when we get to a race, we're ready to ride in all conditions and surfaces no matter what. Now the season is coming to an end you have to be smart. If you go out just collecting points something can go wrong or strange, so there's no need to change our approach at all. We go to win. And I'm feeling relaxed and good and ready to go!”

A victory, a podium, or even a top five finish will be more than enough to keep that red plate, and the spot as favorite to win the 2016 MXGP title. No doubt on a hard pack circuit, with some interesting jumps, the Slovenian will enjoy himself, just as he has done all season long.
