RideoffroadUK are setting their sights on a different kind of event to see out the 2014 season. The Club are running a series of National Iron Man Hard Enduros aimed at providing a challenge for riders looking for something a bit on the wild side.

Two events will run in 2014 with the final round of the series in January 2015. The first event will take place at Lee Dell Rochdale on this Suday, November 23, then two weeks later round two heads for Pateley Bridge on December 7, both events will be very hard going.

There will be a 1.5 hour, medium severity qualifier event starting at 9am. All riders must complete a minimum of two laps to qualify for the main Hard Enduro which starts at 11.45am. The start order for the main event is determined by the qualifier results. Riders will start the Hard Enduro in blocks of 10.

Each class will be set a target number of laps to complete, the rider who completes the target laps fastest, wins!

The course will be tough going each and every lap, no man made stuff, some wet muddy sections, but mainly lots of very technical, natural terrain to negotiate.

Both Lee Dell and Pateley Bridge offer a variety of terrain; one thing is for sure there will be some surprises for riders of all abilities. So if you are a Sportsman who just wants to be in the event fighting for survival, a trials rider wanting something more adrenaline fuelled, or an extreme enthusiast; one thing is for sure the key word is in the event title, Hard.

Both courses will be plotted to test rider's skills and bravery on terrain such as hill climbs, steep descents, stream riding sections, rock strewn hillsides, and much more. We are leaving the logs and tyre features out of these events relying wholly on natural terrain.

There will be a number of check points around the courses at key points where riders must pass through, for example at the top of hill climbs, and at the end of stream sections to make sure fair competition takes place. The courses will not be cleared or graded like they are for Hare & Hounds, just get on and ride against what sits in front of you!

Entries are strictly limited. You must enter via the website. All entries require a £25 non returnable booking fee to secure an entry on the start line, the balance to be paid on the day. Or you can pay the full amount via Debit Card over the phone.

Already we have riders booked in from across the country, riders who competed in Red Bull Sea to Sky, plus many more. It looks like its going to be a great winter work out for many riders as the Putoline Iron Man Hard Enduro Series keeps the winter months events schedule active.
