How to fix wind noise on GoPro Hero 7 for Motocross and Action Sports

This popular YouTube motocross channel have used GoPro cameras for many years and they were looking forward to testing out their new piece of equipment, a Hero 7 Black.
But after mounting the Hero 7 on 125cc ripper Joel Rizzi, they were gutted to find that the sound quality was terrible (watch the video and you'll hear for yourself).
Using the camera out of the box the wind noise was that bad it made the footage unusable so they set about finding a solution watch to see how they got on.
