The scenic setting of Newcastle on the coast of Northern Ireland awaits the start of the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship that will take place on 4/5th April. This brand new venue will welcome the World's best trials riders, with these elite athletes having switched their focus from Indoors to Outdoors over the past few weeks in readiness for the fresh challenge that lies ahead of them.

Over the next six months the new look series will visit no less than eight different countries and will provide the competitors with a total of eleven counting days as they go in search of World glory. A mixture of one and two-day events will combine to ultimately decide who will be crowned King of the three respective classes that includes the Youth, Junior and World Pro categories.

Ireland is the first of three double headers, with Great Britain and Japan being the other countries to have been awarded two-day format events, where each day carries full championship points. With the added importance of double points being up for grabs at the opening round in Newcastle, the riders will be only too aware of just how significant this initial weekend may prove to be in their overall title assault.

Although a good start to any campaign is essential, a long road remains in front of the riders, before they reach the finale of the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship in France come mid September. From Ireland the tour makes a short dash back to Southern Europe for round two in Portugal, before once again crossing the English Channel for the Grand Prix of Great Britain.

A brief break in the proceedings will allow everyone to regroup ahead of the most hectic period of the season. The month of June begins with the long trip to the fantastic facility in Japan, before the championship returns to mainland Europe for two further rounds in Italy and Andorra all within a three-week period.

The traditional Summer recess during August will be a welcomed respite before the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship is brought to a close with back to back rounds, first in Spain and finally in France. By 13th September the  deserved Kings of the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship will be clear for all to celebrate.
