It's two for Bou!

TONI Bou proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that last week's World Championship win at the opening World Indoor Trials Championship round in Granada, Spain, on the four-stroke Repsol-Montesa 4RT (the first ever!) was not a flook by riding to a second successive victory in the series this time in St Petersburg, Russia.

And once again Bou did not just shade victory but spanked his rivals hard, losing a mere six marks in the final compared to 17 of runner-up Albert Cabestany and 18 of reigning champ Adam Raga.

This week Raga did have the excuse of a broken exhaust pipe, which bust in the third section, after which the Gas Gas rider claimed he just did not have the confidence in his machine's performance. For Cabestany, second place was a great comeback following his disastrous Granada event when his Sherco rear suspension failed.

In an easy Qualifying heat, Raga was looking good, having lost single marks in the fourth and sixth hazards, from the seven sections plus the High-jump, a feat which Cabestany matched, but Adam took the top Qualifying spot after beating Albert in the dual lane race. The scores were Raga 2, Cabestany 3.
