SCARBOROUGH teenager trialler Simon Kershaw won the annual Eboracum MC's Kay Trophy Trial at Ouseburn, on Sunday, where 120 competitors rode the Moor Farm course in mild conditions, albeit with just a fine drizzle as many of the riders completed their final lap.

It was no easy ride for Simon who had Karl Doddridge and Gary Collinson pressing hard, but Kershaw rode four of the ten sections without penalty, and that gave the 18-year-old the winning edge.

Whitby's Andy Chilton repeated his sterling Yeadon-Guiseley British championship ride to head the Youth ahead of Skeeby title contender, Jonathan Richardson, and Scarborough's Josh Sprintall.

What was not apparent at first was that Chilton was the outright winner on the hard course, ridden by Expert, Inter and Youth riders so his Yeadon Guiseley result was no fluke! The 15-year-old, from Whitby, in his first year in Youth A, has hit remarkable form right on cue for the national championship season.
