Kia boys are back in action

THE calendar is out for the 2016 KIA National Twin-shock Championship and the series devised and implemented with much thought, care and enthusiasm by Alan Wright, Peter Salt and Gerry Minshall over the last two years continues to grow and improve.
The success of this relatively new championship comes from the trio knowing exactly what the twin-shock movement needs from a National series.
There will be nine rounds in 2016 – one more than this year – including an inaugural two-day event to be staged by the Northallerton club in east Yorkshire.
It will be a proper two-day trial and championship points will be awarded on the overall result.
Camping is available.
The Golden Valley date of May 15 has moved from April 10 to avoid conflict with local events while the Sammy Miller round, scheduled for May 15, has also been moved to May 29 to avoid a clash.
Cumberland County will return to the fabulous Newcastleton venue in the Scottish borders in August and this event – organised and run by Paul Norman last year – expands with a fun trial to be held on the Saturday.
The Aqueduct club's round in rural Wales also includes a Saturday afternoon trial (not championship) and again camping is available.
If you have a twin-shock, Brit-shock or air-cooled mono this is for you as there's classes for Vintage Spanish (standard) Twin-shock (air-cooled, drum brake) Air-cooled Mono and Brit-shock.
Some standard pre-78 twin-shocks are also eligible to go in the Vintage Spanish class for next year.
All will be revealed on the National Twin-shock Trials website and of course we'll bring you all the twin-shock national news in Trials Torque.
For now though you can get those championship dates saved in your 2016 diary and get ready for some great trials.
The events are ALL off-road so no need for road-registered bikes and the aim is two laps of a decent ride round.
