Kuberg are set to shake up the 50cc Auto MX class in February with the launch of their new X-Cross Pro 50 Race bike... but of course its Kuberg, so its Electric!

This comes as a result of several months of discussion between E-scape and the ACU on the spec and power levels for both their X-Cross Pro 50 due out in late February and also Kuberg's new 65cc size electric race bike coming later this year.

The ACU have now created a standing regulation for electric motorcycles in the 50cc and 65cc categories and provided that machines comply with their guidance, they can race.

This has opened the door for all electric dirtbike manufacturers to create suitable race machines and join Kuberg on the start line to go head-to-head with petrol bikes.

The result is an exciting opportunity for some great racing between riders on competing technologies.

It is also a positive PR message for the Sport.

E-scape's managing director Stuart Rutter says:

"This regulation demonstrates a desire to create a new generation of riders who embrace highly-competitive ‘noise-free' racing and will undoubtedly help some race and practice tracks to stay open”

E-scape are also in discussion with other race organisations such as MCF, AMCA and BSMA to see if they will follow the ACU's lead.

Kuberg's Pro 50 is packed full of surprises.

Blistering acceleration from its 8Kw motor combined with nimble handling make the Pro50 a genuine trouble-maker in the 50cc Auto class.

Other key features include a ‘fast-swap' 48v Lithium battery pack, USD Forks, DNM Shock, Formula Mini-cross Hydraulic Disc brakes and Kenda Millville MX tyres.

The Pro 50 has come into production following the prototypes first appearance in the UK during Arenacross 2016.

There it demonstrated some great racing potential and amazed the 10,000 strong crowds with lap times coming very close to some of the 65cc racers!

Production bikes will start shipping at the end of February but in very limited numbers.

Bikes can be pre-ordered at a special introductory price of £2,999 via Authorised Kuberg UK Resellers - after that it will revert to its normal RRP of £3,299. All enquiries to
