The chances of Jeffrey Herlings and Dylan Ferrandis ever being friends is pretty remote and they clashed again in qualification in Italy when the pair made contact at turn three.

Ferrandis, who has never been concerned about his relationship with Herlings, remained calm.

"We touched two times,” he said.

"Jeffrey tried to block pass me at turn three but I kept the gas on. It was cool.”

An elbow back pushed Herlings down to third behind Jeremy Seewer where he stayed for

the remainder of the race.

Ferrandis also ended Herlings' hopes for a perfect season with a narrow win in the opening moto.

But the Dutchman sportingly congratulated his rival at the end of the race – and then secured his eighth overall win of the season with victory in race two.
