MX Nationals Harri Kullas Hawkstone Park

Harri Kullas has won the Michelin MX Nationals' Pro MX1 class for the second year in succession s as he ran out a comfortable winner in both motos at Hawkstone Park.

Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha's Kullas entered the penultimate round of the Michelin MX Nationals British Championship as series leader, with a healthy 45-point advantage over Josh Gilbert.

After qualifying well in fourth place, Kullas had the perfect start in race one, leading from the off. Shaun Simpson was in close attention before he went missing early on, then John Adamson was left in second but also went missing, leaving Kullas a very comfortable winning margin at the chequered flag.

It was a similar story in race two, as Kullas got the holeshot again and pulled a comfortable lead to win the race, the overall and the 2022 Pro MX1 Championship. His third title in four years.

Harri Kullas: "I felt good going into Sunday's race as I'd spent a lot of time in Lommel lately. I knew starts would be important as the track was quite sketchy. Shaun was pushing me hard in race one early on but then crashed, and I took it steady for an easy win.

"Race two " got another good start as my Yamaha YZ450F got me a clear holeshot, though I had a small crash with three laps to go. Great to get two wins and win the championship with one round to go again. I love riding the MX Nationals, and it feels like it's our title now as I've won it three times.

"Huge thanks to my team, my girlfriend, Lisett, and all the families that come and support me."

Coming into 2022's season, Kullas had the same number of titles as Graeme Irwin, with the pair on two Pro MX1 titles each. However, this year's title places the 30-year-old Estonian at the top of the all-time win list in the Pro MX1 class.

On the way to his Pro MX1 title, Kullas has collected five moto wins and three overall victories and has featured in the top two in every race.
