MXGP Jorge Prado Riola Sardo

Jorge Prado has declared himself fit to return to Grand Prix racing and will compete at this weekend's Riola Sardo MXGP round in Sardinia, Italy.

Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing says they are "ecstatic" to have their 450 ace back on the bike after he missed the MXGP of Italy due to a shoulder injury sustained at the end of April.

Prado tested riding at pace earlier this week and confirmed that his shoulder is strong enough to leap into the sand of Riola Sardo for round eight of 20 of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship.

The 21-year-old Spaniard joins new stablemate Mattia Guadagnini in the premier division, with #101 racing the MC 450F for the first time.

After missing last weekend's Grand Prix, Prado has dropped two places in the standings and enters Riola Sardo in fourth, with 11 points separating him from the top three.

"I am very excited to return to racing with Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing this weekend," exclaimed Prado. "I only missed one race, but it was far too long away from my MC 450F. I rode earlier this week, and my shoulder felt strong enough to race, so we will head to Riola Sardo and try to take as many points as possible."
