Lotte van Drunen joins F&H Kawasaki for WMX

For the first time in its young history, the F&H Kawasaki Racing Team are to include a female athlete in the team line-up, with Lotte van Drunen joining the Dutch squad on a three-year deal as they venture into the WMX series.

Van Drunen turned 15 this week and is now eligible to compete in the final round of the 2022 FIM Women's Motocross World Championship set for Turkey on September 4.

Few young females have been so successful in open competition. Van Drunen qualified at several rounds of the EMX125 series this season a top-10 result at Lommel was the highlight of her season. Last season she was the first female rider to climb the EMX85 podium, beating 37 other riders to claim third place in Riola Sardo.

"We are very happy and excited to add Lotte to our team and to compete with such a great talent in the Women's championship in the next three years," said team manager Nathalie Fas. "We are looking forward to a successful collaboration and many successes together!"

Van Drunen has already been working alongside compatriot Marc de Reuver in recent weeks and will join the F&H Kawasaki squad later this year to prepare for her first full season in the WMX series in 2023.

Lotte van Drunen said: "I am very proud to sign a three-year contract with F&H. This is an amazing offer for a girl of my age and I'm really grateful for the opportunities that they will give me! I'm already looking forward to starting with the team and training on my Kawasaki during the winter."
