Miro Sihoven joins JWR Racing Team

JWR Racing has announced their first signing for the 2021 season with Finnish native Miro Sihoven the first to ink a deal with the team.

One of the top talents to hail from Scandinavia will continue his training with former racer Jussi Vehviainen as they prepare for a busy year. On a JWR Honda, Sihoven will take on multiple championships the FIM Motocross World Championship will be his main focus but he'll also race in the Dutch and Finnish championships and some selected rounds of the Swedish championship.

The team feel the talented Scandinavian could be one of the surprises of the coming season and know he will never stop fighting for the positions in MXGP series. The plan for this year is to gain experience and aim for points in the world championship.

"Im really happy to get the opportunity to race for JWR racing on the Honda CRF 450R," said Sihoven. "I have never ridden a Honda before this, but after the first test ride I was so impressed and want to go racing right away to get the opportunity to be in this team is huge.

"I am really looking forward to starting work with the complete JWR Honda Racing team. I know I will be working with very good people that love the sport. I cannot wait to get going."

JWR is building a hungry team with an eye on the future and want to work with raw speed and in Miro they see speed.

"We are happy to have Miro on the team," said JWR Honda Racing team owner, Johan Westermark.

"We were talking about him last year already, so he was on the shortlist of riders that we wanted on the team. He is talented, works hard and gives it his best. He showed very good speed in EMX before if you have been a series leader you have it, and we want to work with speed. He never gives up when he is on the track and that is something that we respect a lot."

Team Manager, Tonny Govers: "We hope we can make another step with Miro in the premier MXGP class, and help Miro fighting for points in the MXGP class and we know that it will be hard, but we will help him and give him everything he needs to succeed.

The team marketing coordinator, Patrik Erlandsson revealed that they intend on delivering more behind the scenes content to fans. "This rider is a good fit for the team! Now we can start the season. And to be part of the Honda family again is perfect for all of us. We will focus a lot of social media presence and activities to support him during the championship. And look for Miro in the new JWRTV episode a groundbreaking new media exposure that JWR will launch during 2021."

In the coming weeks, we can expect to see another pilot announced to compete alongside the Fin.
