MXGP Kegums Mitch Evans

Team HRCs Mitch Evans finished in a solid 11th place in the qualifying race on the challenging Kegums track in Latvia.

Evans rounded the first lap of qualifying at the MXGP of Latvia in 13th place and was then involved in battles with multiple riders throughout the moto. He eventually crossed the line in 11th place but knows if he wants to challenge at the front of the field as he did in Trentino, hell need a pair of better starts.

A lot of rain is expected overnight and into tomorrow at the Motocenter "Zelta Zirgs" circuit, so Evans could be facing a much-changed Kegums circuit when he first takes to the track for a warm-up at 10:45am. The motos then start at 14:15 and 17:10 for what is the sixth round of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship.

"I was aiming to be inside the top 10 today, so I didnt quite make that, [but] it was easy to make a mistake on this track, so I got through the day without too many problems and that is important," said Evans.

"Were not sure what the weather will bring tomorrow so the conditions could be completely different, but Im going to try to keep up my good recent form and push for some solid results."
