Tommy Searle leaves Kawasaki – 'it just wasn't meant to be'

MXGP Tommy Searle

Two-time British motocross champion and long-time Kawasaki rider Tommy Searle is set to leave the Team Green family.

Searle won his first-ever British Motocross Championship title with Kawasaki in 2016 and took the crown again this season with his KX450 in the highly competitive MX1 class.

Having spent much of his career with Team Green, both in the British and World Grand Prix Championships, Tommy will be sorely missed by both Kawasaki UK and fans alike.

Kawasaki Motors UK's, Ross Burridge is proud of Searles performance and dedication during his time under the Team Green banner. "I have personally enjoyed working with Tommy over a number of years, and Ive certainly enjoyed witnessing him take both of his British titles aboard Kawasaki machinery.

"As much as we would have loved to see him remain with Kawasaki in 2020, it just wasnt meant to be. We wish Tommy all the best for next season and look forward to racing against him on track!"

Update October 18, 12:52 BST: Tommy Searle posted to his Instagram account a message of thanks...

"Just a post to say a HUGE Thankyou to Kawasaki MXGP and Tean Green UK for the past years working together! You have been a massive part of my career Cheers Stephen Guttridge and Ross Nurridge for the support and good times!"
