First off this month was the sixth round of the WEC in France which was - as usual - spectacular and, with the dust, very hard. The tests were tricky, the extreme test was really extreme and the amount of people there spectating was nothing short of amazing. The race itself wasn't one of my best performances but we had lots of problems jetting the bike. The main problem was that the MX test was high up in the mountains and the enduro test was on normal ground. Also I had one of these super-easy adjusters wind itself out so after changing the jetting all day I later found out it was all the adjuster's fault - great! The second day went a bit better and I ended up fifth. Right now I'm currently fifth in the championship - nine points from third - so I can still podium and that's something that will put a smile on my face. The other members of the team also had a tough weekend - McConnell went 13-9, Simon 8-7 and the Polish rider managed two tests before injuring his hand. So all-in-all not a weekend to remember. On to some Fast Eddy stuff and we've had to cancel the Culham round until September 25 due to the DEFRA situation. Apparently they thought it was lifted at the end of July but they didn't check and it's apparently in place until the end of August. Not good having to cancel, especially at such short notice - sorry lads!We don't like having to do these things but a lot of times it's out of our hands - on the flip side it's allowed us more time to prepare for the final two events and work has started on the outdoor arena course at Ellesmere. After just two logs created quite a stir I'm sure what we've got planned for September 3 will create an even bigger one. John at Ellesmere has got logs, rocks, sand and even a container being put in place on a course that we copied from the indoor event in Barcelona. It should have a bit of everything and the plan is to have demo races on Saturday afternoon and incorporate the course for Sunday's championship event - there's even seating trailers at the venue as well as a marquee.I hope that it will be a case of third time lucky as we certainly had some strange happenings at Ellesmere in the past. There's also going to be a large pro/expert-only hill as well so there should be some entertainment during the weekend - we're also hoping that Sutty and GW will be there (bring it on - Sutty)!Well that's all folks for this month. I've got a BEC, WEC and something at Worcester all coming up so I'll fill you in on those next time.See ya!Words by Paul Edmondson Photo by Antonio Sutton
