Sampson's Wallace joy

SUNDAY'S superb National Wallace Cup Trial incorporated round two of the 2007 ACU Novogar National trials championship, with Lee Sampson of Sheffield taking the win with a loss of 13 marks, just ahead of 2006 World Youth trials champion Alexz Wigg.
Deservedly earning the reputation of being one of the top Southern-based National Trials events, the 2007 Wallace Cup attracted a total of 95 entries, a testament to the quality of the North Berks MCC's superb presentation, organisation and hard-work. Looking to record his fifth consecutive Wallace Cup victory, Sam Connor had to eventually settle for the runners-up spot in the Non-championship Expert class on Sunday at West Hagbourne, near Didcot, Oxon.
