The ACU Motocross Committee has announced that Team GB is out of the 2021 Sidecarcross of Nations in France.

The SMXoN event is set to be staged on October 2-3 at Motoclub Dardon Gueugnon in France, but despite tireless work by Team Manager, Dan Chamberlain to secure a strong team that could contest for a top result, the decision has been made to opt-out of the 2021 Sidecarcross of Nations with a view to focusing on a return in 2022.

Injuries, travel restrictions and travel complications are among the issues faced, explained Chamberlain. "Also the constant changing of the world championship dates with two rounds now being contested after the Nations event making it harder for riders to compete in the one-off event."

At the last SMXoN in 2019, Team GB dug deep to deliver a podium bronze in Germany. Just like motocross, there was no Nations event in 2020.
