Super Karr

Motocross

The ever-smiling Matiss Karro got to grips with a hot and dusty Milton MX Park, to win all three of his MX1 races and fire himself to the top of the Maxxis British Championship.

Elliott Banks-Browne set the pace in the MX2 class, winning all of his races to take the red plate for the series, but Mel Pocock had a disastrous day where nothing seemed to go right.

Superpole winner Karro led the pack in the first MX1 race with wildcard Josh Coppins second and series leader Kevin Strijbos back in sixth.

Three laps later, at the back of the track, Coppins stalled his Yamaha handing second place to Stephen Sword with Gert Krestinov third and Kristian Whatley fourth.

By halfway Karro was controlling the race from the front with Sword in a lonely second place, while Shaun Simpson now had Krestinov under pressure, having found a way past Whatley.

Karro crossed the line almost nine seconds clear of Sword, followed by Simpson and Krestinov, with Coppins
making his way back from ninth to fifth.

It looked like Sword was going to get the holeshot at the start of race two, but Karro slipped up the inside and snatched it away, while Nathan Parker crashed out, aggravating his knee in the process.

With ten minutes left on the clock Karro had managed to open up a gap over Simpson as Strijbos, from seventh at the start, found a way past Coppins for third.

Karro took his second win of the day by just under seven seconds from Simpson, with Strijbos third and Coppins fourth.

In the first of the MX2 races Banks-Browne got the holeshot, with Buildbase Honda rider Nicolas Aubin in a close second place.

Lap after lap Aubin stayed with Banks-Browne but just couldn't get close enough to attempt a pass as they crossed the finish-line just four seconds apart.

Banks-Browne claimed his second holeshot of the day in race two followed by Aubin who had Bryan MacKenzie all over his back wheel.

On lap two, Aubin made a mistake and MacKenzie was through into second, but only for a couple of laps as Aubin regrouped and re-took second spot.
