Take a Bou, King Toni

TONI Bou is the 2007 World Indoor Trials Champion!

The 19-year-old from Barcelona finished runner-up in Saturday's penultimate round of the current series, staged in Mahon, on the island of Menorca, and as he now has a ten point series lead going into the final round in Madrid next week he cannot be beaten. Even if Bou fails to finish and scores zero points and Albert Cabestany were to win, Toni would still take the title on most wins.

And with Bou obviously feeling the pressure, as he homed in on his first ever World title, (and the first for the Montesa 4RT) it was Sherco's Albert Cabestany who won in Mahon. It was Albert's second WCT Indoor win on the trot and how the rider from Tarragona must be ruing the mechanical failure in the opening round in Granada. A special titanium suspension bolt broke and Cabes scored just three points for sixth place. But for this, surely the Sherco rider would still have been in with at least a mathematical chance of the title.
