As I write this month's column I'm getting ready to leave in two days to go back to Italy and start riding again - and I can't wait.So what's been happening? Well I managed to go to Greece to the world enduro championship but unfortunately the result was crap and I didn't feel like myself. Also, I ran the first round of the Fast Eddy series at Trentham which I'm sure most of you have read was quite interesting. All I'll say is that having to exclude not only a rider but someone who's a friend was very hard - especially when in my eyes he'd won the race. But I remember the French ISDE when I was thrown out on the last day for having the wrong front tyre so what's the difference? Well I know that loads of riders didn't have the enduro front tyres on as well. I also know other riders supposedly had fuel cans in the woods - but remember boys, play with fire and you might get burned. But when you do, my advice is just to get on with it and show 'em next time - ***t happens and trust me I've had my fair share. The event otherwise went okay and although I couldn't do the start due to feeling a bit rough I'll be back in full flight for the next round at Tong Hall. While I've been home I've managed to spend some quality time with the kids. Me and my oldest boy Jack went to Castlepark (Rob Herring's track) last week where he gave the PW50 a hammering. He must have ridden round for at least an hour non-stop and he only decided to pull in after he'd had a huge highside. Watching him crash wasn't good and I don't think he'll be doing too much more crashing for a while as finding time to take him out will be difficult for at least the next month.Right now my focus is on preparing for the French and Italian world rounds where I need to start doing well again and hopefully start winning - I've heard that in France there'll be at least five tests every lap and four tests per lap in Italy. The more tests the better, especially when riding in these countries gives me such a buzz anyway. So the plan for the next month is get to Italy, get practicing and maybe do a small amount of testing. Being over there and having the machinery, mechanics and material available makes my job a lot easier. Also, I need to go as my practice machine has been over there since the Spanish world round so I'll have to get Knighter boy to bring it home after Italy for me.Well, that's pretty much it for this month. I've just finished looking at the venue for the Fast Eddy and 'King of the Hill' in Wales. It should be awesome to ride and entertaining to watch - especially as Lawless will be riding and hopefully bringing some Icelandic nutters with him. It's guaranteed fun with those boys around. See you soon...Fast EddyWords by Paul Edmondson Photo by Jonty Edmunds
