Trials

Bou makes French connection but its disaster for Dibs

SATURDAY night saw the second round of the 2015 World X-Trial Championship staged in Marseille, France, exactly four weeks since the series opener in Sheffield.

But it was the same winner as Toni Bou eased to yet another victory and already, after just two trials, he holds a 13-point

series lead as the Repsol Montesa No.1 heads for an incredible ninth consecutive World Indoor title.

Behind Bou it was the usual Catalan train, this week Adam Raga getting the verdict over old foe Albert Cabestany, with Jeroni Fajardo never really getting on terms with his more senior rivals.

For Britain's James Dabill and the Vertigo project the evening was something of a disaster as after a month of promising practise and development it all came to nought as a rear suspension bolt broke, causing a five in the second section.

Then as the team battled to effect a repair, James was forced to go out on the number two bike and clocked-up another maximum as the machine ran out of juice as it was not really in the plan to have to ride it.
