Trials

The final round of the Midlands OSET Cup, Midland Minichamps and the East Midland Centre E Class Championship was run on Saturday at a wet and slippery Bracken Rocks, Holloway, Derbyshire.

All six rounds of the OSET Cup Championship held this year have been held at different venues throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, all organised by the Mansfield Club.

A total of eight sections were set with the laps reduced to three because of the weather.

On the White easy route, Ryan Spink took the lead from the very first section, with Archie Dabill and Chester Peel also in the mix.

The opening hazard included twists and turns through the trees and round a large rock which used to be a regular section for the TY80 trials.

Section four also proved tricky with a run up a stream and a turn to the left then right to the ends cards.

Ryan struggled on this and parted with 11 with George Wareing, Chester Peel and Jesse Barks all dropping nine.

Ryan won the trial on section six where he lost just the one as the rest of the entry dropped nine.

Jack Owen and Max Howarth had a day-long battle, with Jack just beating Max by two at the finish.

Max didnt get the double rock step right in section three and lost 10 to Jacks two.

On the Middle route Finley Widdows took the win on 36, just two ahead of Joel Hurst.

The only section separating them was number five.

On the Minichamps routes for petrol engines, Jack Beal was the only finisher on the White easier route with 53 lost on the Middle route while Finlay Hudd was the only rider to finish on the Yellow route.
