ACU S3 Parts Championship ready to rumble

Trials

The enthusiastic North Berks club gets the nine-round 2018 ACU S3 Parts Championship off to a flying start this Sunday (February 25) with their Wallace Cup Trial. Starting and finishing, as usual, at The Horse & Harrow public house, West Hagbourne, Oxon, there will be no fewer than nine groups of sections.

As ever, the best spectating point will be the unique Seymours Arena where Stu Robinson will have made the most of the facilities and both riders and spectators will be able to take advantage of a burger van.

The last four sections will be situated handily near the pub where the trial finishes, so by all means, please pop in and support the pub at the end of the day. Theres a cracking entry with plenty of quality in the quantity with a total of 102 contenders chasing Championship points split between S3Parts Experts and Clubman classes plus a seven strong group of Elite riders gunning for the Premier Wallace Cup.

Luke Walker

In the Experts, Sherco riders defending Champ Luke Walker and multi times S3 winner Chris Pearson are both back on the trail but face increasingly stiff opposition.Top Yorkies and National trial winners Richard Sadler and Guy Kendrew head that list along with north east challenger John Crinson.

Stir in the likes of Richard Timperley, Chris Alford, Simon Welch and Rob Warner, plus Ladies British World and British champ Emma Bristow and the determined ever-improving Jess Bown and you have a real competition. And we wouldnt even like to guess at a Clubman winner, that class is forever wide open just waiting for someone to take the bull by the horns.

The Elite meanwhile sees the first real clash of some 2018 British Championship chasers like Jack Sheppard on his new Sherco, the feisty Tom Minta on the Scorpa, Steady Sam Haslam for Gas Gas and TRS runner Ross Danby plus James Fry, Sam Connor and Alexz Wigg back from injury and you have quite a tussle.

First rider away at a bright (hopefully) and breezy 9.30am.
