Trials

Dont forget that the 2013 Sheffield Indoor Trial will be the opening round of the 2013 X-Trial series which is of course the FIMs official World Championship!

TMX has been reliably informed that tickets have been selling like the proverbial Hot Cakes.

A spokesman from Avondale Management said recently that they were delighted with ticket sales, which are way up on this time last year, but they are concerned that non trials riders are snapping up the tickets.

Avondale says it hopes that their regular supporters (the true trials fans) don't leave it too late and miss out.

At the moment there are just over 1,500 seats left, so if you want to be at the World's No.1 Indoor Trial you had better grab your tickets NOW!

Saturday, January 5, is the date just in case you have forgotten and headlining the event of course is multi World Champ and reigning Indoor and Outdoor champ Toni Bou. The Spaniard, on the factory Repsol Montesa, has been in phenomenal form this year and he really set the Arena alight earlier this year with some simply sensational riding.

2013 will be the 18th consecutive year of the Sheffield Arena Trial and there will be one name missing.

This will be the first year that five times World Indoor champ Dougie Lampkin has missed competing in his ‘home' event having competed in every previous running of the trial.

"I'm gutted” said Doug. "But it had to end some time and I've had a fantastic run.”

British fans will have two riders to get behind though with reigning British champ James Dabill looking to make a real impression on the Indoor scene this year.

Dibs will be joined by fellow Yorkie Jack Challoner. Jack was a revelation at Sheffield last year and if he rides as well again the crowd are in for a treat.

As well as the awesome Bou, James and Dibs will have to take on the rest of the world elite with recent Gas Gas re-signing Adam Raga, Sherco's Albert Cabestany, Beta's Jeroni Fajardo and Bou's Repsol Montesa team mate, Japanese crowd-pleaser Takahisa Fujinami.
