Scottish Six Days Trial

WITH entries for the 2018 Scottish Pre-65 Two Day Trial already open, eager riders can now get their speculative entries in for the 2018 Scottish Six Days Trial which in 2018 will take place from Monday to Saturday, May 7-12.

And all the signs are that the numbers entering will way exceed the number of places available (280) and that a ballot is a certainty as TMX understands that around 200 potential entries were received within a day or so of them being opened.

And as entries dont officially close until December 6 one can only guess at what the final figure will be. One of the reasons for the potential bumper entry is that last year the weather was virtually perfect with not a drop of rain all week, dry conditions off-road and several of the tougher moorland crossings had been rested by the course plotters.

None of which can be guaranteed for next year but, given last years dream week it was always going to happen!

No details of the course have been released or even leaked but Jeff Horne and his experienced crew will have something up their sleeves as they have been ringing the changes over the last couple of years, giving some parts of the course a rest and introducing interesting new routes and we know that is going to continue.

If you want to be in The Scottish 2018 the entry fee will be 480 which of course includes your fuel for the week with multi-point refuelling on the course and lunch each day. The good news is you dont have to pay it now.

What you have to do is log on to ssdt.org and follow the instructions. If you are serious about a ride you may as well do it now - but however quick you enter wont make any difference as to whether you get a ride.

As stated, entries dont close until December 6, after that it is all down to procedure and ultimately the ballot.
