Trials Torque: Dates all set for battle of Britain

Trials

WITH 2017 now just four weeks away its time to have a look at the British Championship scene for the New Year.

And firstly, yes it is late in the day with the new season literally round the corner but a delay in the Trials World Championship dates – now sorted – caused the inevitable log-jam back down the line.

Until the International dates are confirmed then National dates have to hang fire, then centre dates and finally club calendars.

It isn't quite as rigid as that as most clubs aren't really governed by what Toni Bou and co are up to but that's how it works in general.

The ACU recently sent out a provisional list to the centres and this is what we can go with, give or take the odd inevitable change down the line.

The RT Keedwell British Trials Champs will comprise a more compact eight rounds over seven weekends, the final two rounds being a double at Totherick Quarry in Ayrshire.

Getting the series started will be Hook Wood in Surrey on March 4 and then literally one a month from then on with The Lakes, St David's, Scarborough, West of England, and Guisborough leading up to the Scottish finale.

The popular S3 Parts Clubman series takes in seven rounds in 2017 with an early start at the North Berks' club's Wallace Cup on February 26.

After the Wallace it is very much a northern based series incorporating some of the best established road-based Nationals in the calendar and is sure to be well supported once again as indeed it deserves to be.

Don't miss the TMX Christmas and New Year issues which will as ever feature the full British and World trials calendar so you can plan your year ahead!
