Trials

THERES a big west country double coming up next month courtesy of the West of England club in deepest Devon with the fifth round of the RT Keedwell British Trials Championship taking place on Saturday, July 2, followed by The SKF British Experts trial at a different venue on Sunday, July 3.

The Anthony Rew British Championship Trial will take place at Kelly Farm, Lustleigh, Devon, TQ13 9SW and follow the usual format of three laps of 12 sections.

James Dabill currently holds a commanding lead but Jack Price is on fire this season and is looking for that debut Championship win.

Sunday's British Experts event is scheduled to take place at Ruby Rocks, Islington, TQ13 9RT although in case of bad weather it may be transferred to Kelly Farm.

The Experts is for adult riders only and entrants must have either competed in the British Champs or Experts class, finished in the top 10 of the S3 Series, be an ACU Centre Champ or by invitation.

There is also a Sidecar class where contenders must either ride British Championship or again by invitation.

The solo course will comprise a single route with sections of varying severity.

There will be between 12 and 20 sections and either two or three laps.

An observed practise lap will be completed with the results from this being used to determine starting order for the event. The Solo British Experts will start at noon.

Sidecars will feature a 9.30am start and be run over two laps of 20 sections and will end before the solos start.

Regs for both events, which ought to be cracking trials, are available on the West of England website which is westofenglandmc.co.uk
