Electric starts are currently in vogue - at long last - for trials-based trail models and the latest to hit the TMX desk is the TRS Xtrack.

This 2020 model will be available in both ONE and RR specs with the big difference of course - except for the electric start - being a larger fuel tank, the Xtrack holding no less than 3.8 litres.

And that proper seat allows comfortable longer runs.

In order to make the addition of the all-important electric start the crankcases and crankshaft as well as the outer cover are all new.

The 500 watt Mitsuba starter motor is mounted above the crankase and powered by a light Ion-Lithium battery.

The Xtrack would be absolutely ideal for the long distance road trials that are increasing in popularity plus of course there is nothing to stop you riding in club trials as well as enjoying your trail riding.

British importer Steve Saunders tells us that the models - 250/ 280/ 300 all include a standard trials fuel tank and that you can convert from trail to trials trim in minutes.

So when you stall on a steep, slippery banking you can (hopefully) fire it up before it all goes pear-shaped.
