Trial World Championship

The calendar for the 2020 FIM Trial World Championship has been released and sees an extended series taking in seven rounds and nine point-scoring days.

And the big news for British fans is that there WILL be a home round next year with three days, including two days of trials, at Tong, Bradford, Yorkshire.

Along with the annual three days at Motegi, Japan, the British round is the only other three-day event in the calendar, Friday being Qualifying followed by two points-scoring days of trials.

The Tong trial will incorporate TrialGP, Trial2 and Trial125 classes but unfortunately not a Womens round, depriving the British crowd of watching our sis-times and reigning World Trials Champion Emma Bristow.

TrialGP and Trial2 classes will contest every round, TrialGP Women will compete over a four-round championship with five scoring days, Trial125 gets seven scoring days spread across five rounds and Trial2 Women will compete over three rounds and three days of competition.

The Trial-E Cup will also be decided over three rounds and three days after an extra date was added to next years series.

The championship gets underway on the weekend of May 23-24 at Sokolov in the Czech Republic the venue for the 2018 FIM Trial des Nations before heading to the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan on June 5-7 where the riders will have two days of competition.

From there the series moves to Sant Julia in Andorra on June 20-21 and then its on to Tolmezzo in Italy on July 4-5.

TrialGP Great Britain follows on Friday to Sunday, July 10-12, followed, after the traditional summer break, by the sixth round at Cahors in France on August 29-30 before the series signs off on September 5-6 at Pobladura de las Regueras in Spain.

TrialGP Women will be in action in the Czech Republic, Japan, Andorra and Spain, with the Trial2 Women class joining them at every round apart from Japan.

Trial125 riders will compete in Japan, Italy, Great Britain, France and Spain and the TrialE Cup will be decided in Andorra, Italy and France.

The FIM Trial des Nations and Womens Trial des Nations will take place at Gouveia in Portugal on September 12-13.
