The 2019 FIM X-Trial Championship, the second season in the new era of the FIM X-Trial World Championship being run by French promoter 2Play, gets underway in the Hungarian capital Budapest on January 20 and concludes in Andorra La Vella onApril 27.

Budapest was the final round of the 2018 series and is elevated to the opener in a new-look Championship. The series has also grown from seven to eight rounds with a completely new calendar of events unveiled by the FIM.

In 2018 the series featured no fewer than five rounds in France, in 2019 this is reduced to just one, a return to Marseille. Spain will see three rounds, the long-running Barcelona event being joined by Bilbao and Granada.

The big news though is that X-Trial will leave Europe for the first time in over a decade, with a visit to Costa Rica on April 6. Theres also a first ever visit to Moscow as X-Trial heads into Russia.

The FIM X-Trial of Nations remains in France but moves to Vende, the scene of the opening round of the 2018 individual title race. This season, it hosts the worlds best teams for the first time on April 12.
