THOUSANDS of trials fans annually kickstart the New Year at the Sheffield indoor trial, this year at the newly named Fly-DSA Arena with the 2018 event on Saturday, January 6. The event was the brainchild of Martin Lampkin and Neil Crosswaite, first run back in 1996 and has been a must-see event every year since.

Now named The Martin Lampkin Trial, in memory of the legendary Yorkshireman, we have already informed you that World No.1 Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) and No.2 Adam Raga (TRS) will headline the event.

Bou is the most dominant rider the world has ever seen with 22 World titles, 11 indoor and 11 outdoor. Raga is equally the undisputed number two and inflicted Bous only Sheffield defeat when he made his International debut on the TRS in last years event!

They will be joined by Bous young Repsol Honda team mate Jaime Busto, tipped by some to be the next World Champion and who made his Sheffield debut last year and it is exciting to see him back at Sheffield again.

Big news for the home fans is that the Brits are back and include multi British Champion and World Championship rider James Dabill. A huge favourite in his home county, it would be fantastic to see The Dibsta on the podium again.

James will be joined recently crowned British Champion Jack Price. Pricey put on a good performance at Sheffield last year on the unforgiving sections and 12 months on is vastly more experienced and as a Yorkshireman is assured of 100 per cent support.

Next up, newly crowned Trial2 World Champion Iwan Roberts has earned a place at Sheffield and Iwan will be waving the Welsh flag for the first time in the arena. Its a fantastic opportunity for one of our young stars to compete with the big boys in front of a massive audience of trials enthusiasts.

Theres a great mix of experience and youth and the knowledgeable Sheffield crowd appreciates what they are going through. This is just the latest news to be released by the Sheffield organisersand well bring you more news of whos riding and whats happening just as soon as its released.

Meanwhile, tickets are on sale now (at last years prices) and include a full colour glossy collectable programme! The message is simple, book now the best seats always sell first, so if you want to be in the arena and virtually rubbing shoulders with the riders book early!
