Franz Kadlec makes X-Trial debut tonight

As the 2017 FIM X-Trial World Championship kicks off in Barcelona, Spain it will be a special moment for nineteen year old Franz Kadlec Gas Gas as he makes his full debut as a permanent rider in the series.
Previously the young German rider's involvement in the FIM X-Trial World Championship has been limited to just two wild card appearances, these coming during the 2015 and 2016 season and both at the Wiener Neustadt event in Austria.
Despite his limited experience on the indoor stage, Kadlec has already made his mark on his more established rivals having placed just outside the top ten overall come the close of the 2016 FIM Trial World Championship.
Speaking ahead of the first round Kadlec said. "I am not putting myself under big pressure, my main goal is to ride as good as I can and not to focus too much on the actual result. Obviously I feel nervous as Barcelona is such a big event. In the end I want to finish the night without injury as the season is long and this is not the moment to start the year with some complications. Finally, I am just happy to be here.”
