Club Reports

After a touch of mid-week snow in the area, the Consett Clubs trial at Oxenlaw, just off the A68 in County Durham, went ahead with no fewer than 81 starters, who faced three laps of ten varied sections and a choice of four courses.

Two riders went clean on the Easy Course, Paul Martin and 2014 North East Twinshock Champion Gary Daykin, while Steve Vitty made a rare appearance to finish in third place on one.
The biggest problem was Farmer John's section four where the stream climb took marks of all but these three.
Joe Hutchinson came home from uni to take the Clubman win on four, putting him five clear of Martin Phillipson who was just ahead of Gavin Brown.
Section eight was the biggest mark stealer where the winner dropped one of his marks but the rest were all struggling here. James Black was another to lose four, but that was enough to take the Green Course ahead of Eddie Aitkin, who probably woud have finished on three had it not been for drowning his bike in section five on his last lap, and the subsequent five ruined his day.
