Colunists

Middlesbrough DMC once again stage the Cleveland Trial this coming Sunday and with a first-class entry from all corners of the country, it promises to be an exciting day. The 30-mile lap will take in old faithfuls such as Clitherbecks, Burkes Wood, Crossley Side and that splendid finale at Stormy Hall.
Competition will be fierce in all classes. Notables in Clubman and early away are Roger Williams, Paul Dennis and Simon Williamson, with the Williams brothers slightly later.
Ripon's Glen Scholey is capable of causing an upset and following him are Scarborough's Alan Carr, local lad, Colin ‘Mr Consistency' Bailey and Richard Simpson, all in superb form at present.
The two brave lady riders Becky Cook and Katy Sunter will have their work cut out in a strong Inter class, with Tom Affleck, Dave Pye, Russ Rooksby and James Carr, out first time after ankle injury, on the AM Ossa.
Also keep a lookout for young Matt Maynard in his first Cleveland.
There's a great display of talent in the Experts.
Although last year's winner Michael Brown is competing in the final round of the World X-Trial series, expect spectacular riding from Alexz Wigg on the MRS Sherco – surprisingly riding his first Cleveland – and also from the young guns riding shotgun with Wiggy, Jonathon Richardson and Richard Sadler also MRS Sherco mounted.
Dan Thorpe, Michael Philipson and Ian Austermuhle all know their way around and will be in with a shout.
There will be stiff competition among the East Yorks lads, with Adam Milner, AM Ossa mounted Guy Kendrew and MRS Sherco man from Whitby Andy Chilton.
First man will be away at 9.30am from Castleton Cricket field.
