*IN the week leading up to Christmas radio stations around the country were clearly heard carrying news from their local Police forces regarding the illegal use of Pitbikes and mini moto's.

British Pitbike Association chairman Vince Page was contacted by Silk FM radio station in Macclesfield to undertake a phone interview on the subject as the authorities were urging parents to refrain from buying them as presents in a bid to keep them off the streets.

''and unfortunately uses a great deal in the way of expenses from the public purse,'' said Page, ''and what is needed is more legitimate, insured and organised venue's where people of all ages can ride on approved circuits with first aid cover close at hand.

''This will reduce the workload on the local Police force freeing them up to tackle far more serious crime, and help give the youngsters a focus and create a sense of community with like minded riders at their local track, as well as giving parents a little more peace of mind.

''If your area is suffering from a lack of a Pitbike track please don't hesitate to contact me for further information on 07946 811938.''

A speedway style oval completes the trio providing a very safe environment for the novices of all ages.

For more information on opening times please contact Darren Coy on 07970-717764.
