Testing times in California

Testing, testing, testing has pretty much been my life in California over the last few weeks.

Pro Circuit bikes are known to be the best for exactly that reason.

We test everything here and find the best set-up possible. Maybe that's why Mitch Payton has won so many championships.

It's such a huge thing for me to be a part of this. The old saying is ‘you learn something new every day'.

Well I learn lots of new things every day!

I have finally found my feet at work now, adapting to the process of Pro Circuit and I'm feeling right at home.

I have been out testing with most of the guys and I am really feeling part of the team.

We had our team photo shoot and I was lucky enough to build the bike for that and attend the shoot.

It was nothing like I have done in Europe before. Instead of just having one guy take a few photos of the riders in different scene set ups, a whole photographic team turned up.

They had an editing trailer set up to edit right there and then at the the track, there was a film guy, a number of photographers, lighting guys plus a mule and driver to move around as quickly as they could.

I was impressed to say the least. Maybe that's why the pics always look so amazing from the US.

With the first Supercross just around the corner we have yet to fully know who is doing east coast and who is doing west.

We have four guys who are ready right now and Justin Hill, my new rider, is back from injury and getting up to speed quickly.

To be honest, the kid impressed me this week. He is only 17 and rides the bike really well. I think he will surprise a lot of people this year.

After all Mitch doesn't hire you if he doesn't  think you can perform.

When I'm not going out to the test track I have started to build our race bike.

This is a really interesting experience as there are so many trick custom Pro Circuit parts going on to this thing. It really is a unique piece of machinery.

I am enjoying every minute of building it and paying the utmost attention to detail so everything is perfect.

Normally, being based in Europe it's not so hard to get home to spend Christmas with my friends and family but this year was different.

I'm still waiting for my visa to be finalised and it was a huge disapointment as Christmas is when you should be with your family. But it just another sacrifice I have to make to be on the best team.

Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and take it easy in 2013!
