With the end of the 2011 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship not too far away close racing action was the order of the day at the penultimate event of the series.

Tom Sagar and Greg Evans shared top honours in the Elite class as both riders try to get ahead in the BSEC title race.

The Under 19, Under 23 and Expert classes also saw different winners at rounds seven and eight. Nathan Watson made a one-off ride to top the U19 class at round seven while Australian Ben Burrell secured the win at round eight.

Manxmen Danny McCanney and Alex Rockwell both grabbed a day win over the two days of competition and in the Expert class it was Oliver Hart and Wyn Hughes who were the riders to beat.

The penultimate stop of the series saw a move to Adstone in Northants over the Bank Holiday weekend, when dry and breezy conditions and a shorter than normal course produced the closest racing action so far this year.

With David Knight unable to compete following his recent hip injury, Fast Eddy Racing KTM-mounted Tom Sagar topped the Elite class, finishing half a minute up on KORR teamster, Greg Evans.

Tom struck first and won the first two tests at round seven, but Greg fought back to win the third. However, with Sagar rounding out the day by finishing no lower than second on each of the remaining five tests he claimed a deserved and important win.

Si Wakely rounded out the top three aboard his Husaberg. Although 40-seconds behind Evans, Wakely had his hands full throughout the day as Paul Edmondson was never far adrift. At the close of play just four-seconds separated the pair, with Daryl Bolter half-a-minute behind in fifth.

Former British Motocross Champion, Carl Nunn, joined the Elite class for a one-off appearance and despite picking up two punctures early on Saturday, which cost him valuable time, he came home an eventual sixth ahead of Jamie Lewis, Jon Hinam, Mark Roberts and Lee Edmondson tenth. For much of the first half of the day it looked like Sagar would claim Elite class victory on Sunday, just as he had the previous day.

But after topping the opening three tests Sagar failed to place higher than fourth and despite carrying a slender lead into the final test, found himself beaten by Greg Evans who saved his fastest run for the end of the day.

Just one second separated Evans from Sagar as the two riders again distanced themselves from the pack.
Wakely matched his day one result of third and finished as the first two-stroke rider.
