Foxhill MXGB date change for 2021 British Motocross Championship

British Motocross Championship Foxhill

The date for the Foxhill round of the ACU Revo British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels has been changed to June 12-13 following consultation with the Safety Advisory Group.

In light of the Government restrictions in place the Safety Advisory Group, which consists of representatives from the Police, Fire, Ambulance, Public Health and other compliance departments within the local authorities have asked if the event is pushed back until June.

RHL Activities and the Langrish Club have looked for a workable date with the Safety Advisory Group for this event to take place in June and can confirm the Foxhill round of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels will take place on June 12 and 13.

Chris Warren, Representative Langrish Club and Clerk of the Course: It has always been the clubs intention to keep within the guidelines from the Government and ACU. We have also wanted to ensure that spectators can return to the banks of Foxhill to enjoy our sport. To that end, the club must respect the decision of Swindon Council and move our date back to June.

Gareth Hockey, RHL Activities: This morning meeting was very positive and its great to see the council working with the Langrish Club to get the event underway this season. However, we must follow their guidance and move the Foxhill round into June. With that said, with the event taking place in June we will be pleased to welcome spectators to the round.

The new Foxhill date clashes with the first round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, which is slated for June 13. Considering the trouble RHL has taken to not clash with any MXGP dates, you're left questioning whether that first round in Russia will happen on the announced date.

However, with free dates now in short supply, Hockey may have been left with no choice but to clash with the world championship.

If the MXGP of Russia gets moved or cancelled, that would set up Matterley Basin to host the opening round of MXGP for the second consecutive year.

The revised 2021 ACU Revo British Motocross Championship calendar can be found below.

Update May 28, 11:11 BST: 2021 Foxhill MXGB round moved again. Foxhill has been moved to June 19, which removes the clash with the opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship as event organisers work to try and fix date conflicts.
