Double delight for Centre crew

Day two of the Inter Centre Team Trial at Hope Farm got underway on Sunday morning with 13 teams battling it out for top spot at the Hope Farm venue in Northumberland.

Again all eyes were on the weather but the dark early morning clouds failed to deliver any rain and for the second day running the scores of the more experienced riders were always going to be low.

Many of the sections had really awkward bits to them but a good handful of national quality riders had them mastered – although all admitted to having to work hard for their cleans from time to time.

Tackling the course without loss were Luke Walker, Andy Chilton, Sam Haslam, Jack Challoner, Iwan Roberts and Robert Waite.

But again it's down to what the teams as a whole could put together and it was the East Yorks lads who triumphed, with Chilton being well supported by Guy Kendrew, Ian Austermuhle, Jack Howell and Dan Peace.

Austermuhle and Peace both had a couple of single prods in the Rock Garden sections, while all three of Kendrew's marks came on the

eight-foot undercut step, when he failed to crest the peak, resulting in a mad pushing job to get out.
