Extremely good news

Motocross

this month started off well after returning from Romania we didnt have much time to relax as it was straight off to the penultimate round of the British Extreme Championship at Adstone.

The race was more of an indoor set-up, which was pretty cool as all the races in the series have been different.

It didn't just suit one rider and gave everyone a chance to use their skills and I won all four races and took the championship.

I was happy to win this in the first year and I thought it would give me a good confidence high for the Xgames.

After the race I went and had some scans on my shoulder, which I dislocated in Romania.

The scan showed that the shoulder was more damaged than we thought and I was told I should have surgery as soon as possible.

So after a long, hard think I decided to miss the Xgames and have the operation.

I was gutted.

The operation went well and I am now sat with it in a sling stuck out in front of me at 90 degrees.

At first I was constantly turning around and hitting things but now I'm used to spacing myself from objects and door casings!

It hasn't all been doom and gloom though – I've got up to some pretty cool stuff thanks to Red Bull.

Firstly I went to Sweden to watch the mx gp and that was a really good experience, as I've never been to one before and I'm definitely hoping I can go and watch another in the near future.

Then I got an invite to go and watch the F1 qualifying and it was amazing.

I just couldn't believe how loud the cars were.

We were able to get down into the Red Bull pits and see what was going on.

I learnt a big lesson that day – and it was that there is a lot more money goes into that than into the enduro scene.

I've spent a good two weeks at the Red Bull trainer's house and got beasted by him!

My legs are still trying to recover now after spending hours on the spin bike as I can't do any upper body training.

This week I've just chilled out and tried to recover.

I went fishing the other day for the first time on my friend's luxury fishing boat (the Jolly Chauder).

But to be honest none of that compares to being able to ride the bike, so I'm really looking forward to getting back to race fitness.

I should get my sling off soon and be back riding steadily in about four weeks.

Hope this month hasn't been too boring for you and that I can bring you more news next month. You can also follow me on twitter jonnywalker_22
