NORA-Sport brought its championship season to a close at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, at the weekend. Congratulations go to Andy Mitchell who secured both the Open and the 450cc Championship titles by round eight with an almost flawless score sheet in each class.
This left the Open championship with Carl Shield, Kevin Drayton, Shane Parkin and Aaron Holmes all in the running for second and third places, while John Milward, Darren Pearson, Paul Haigh and Crispin Williamson were extremely close in their battle for top ten places.
In the 450cc Championship, Danny Tollet had almost certainly secured second place in the series and he looked to be followed by Phil Daley in third. Although Crispin Williamson retired in round nine, he had amassed enough points for fourth in the title race.
A fresh crisp start to Sat-urday morning was soon burnt away with some autumn sunshine and the Quads were the first out on track followed by the 450B group riders.
From the first race, Ashley Dean deserved his move up to Group A with a six second lead. Joining him were Paul Plevin and Nick Gemzoe. In mid-pack positions, Adrian Middleton and Mark Johnson were almost inseparable over the line in ninth and tenth places.
By race two, Alan Bott and Paul Wilby were looking to regain their positions in Group A and, despite leading for the majority of the race, Bott was relegated to second position by Wilby, who set the fastest lap in the dying stages of the race. Brad Davey was very unlucky not to move up, and he finished fourth for the second time.
